At school we call those Pom-pom, like things Bommie Knockers, and we usually throw them at each other.

I think they're Liquid Ambers - there's a tree by my bus stop and I kept trying to juggle with three of them while waiting.Not such a great idea with the spikes...

I don't know what this tree is. It's hard to tell when there are no leaves. But it's covered in prickly seed pods that look like pom-poms. It's a delight - a delightful pom-pom tree!
